It’s not good to laugh at your own jokes…is it? But hey! Went to pick up no 2 child from first term in Cambridge and, after getting completely baffled by the Cambridge road system, managed to pick up a completely undeserved fixed penalty for straying into a bus lane.
I made representations to this effect and received short shrift! So I decided, rightly or wrongly to send this! It makes me laugh a little so despite it being bad form to do so… I hope it brightens your day too!
The last laugh is mine – I don’t think they had spotted I was driving the Wong way!
Any way… as quick as a flash… C. Sheldrake came back to me:
You have to admire them for playing the game…But… I followed their directions on the Dark Lord’s Google Maps only to find that they had directed me to Trinity Hall’s great adversary, Trinity College. What misdirection! So….
Within five minutes I had a call from Jenny at parking services. She had intercepted my latest email and saved me from the influence of further dark forces. She made it her business to give me step by step directions via Bridge Street and 3/4 (Jesus Lane) to the Chamber of Secrets!
Cambridge Parking services – Kudos to you, but you clearly have too much time on your hands!
Now for the lesson… google maps is shite at Cambridge, Waze is Waze better! and would have saved me £30!!!
